The opening reception at North Water Street Gallery (aka Standing Rock Cultural Arts) marked the 2nd Mothersbaugh show in 2 years for the Kent, Ohio based venue. Mark's Beautiful Mutants prints were showcased there last year to coincide with annual DEVOtional fan gathering in Akron the following day, as did this year's art show.

20 of Mark's Postcard Diary prints filled the white walls of the gallery with bursts of color, giving the cozy space a warm glow.

The reception hosted both Ohio locals, and visitors from all over the USA, most of whom were in town for the weekend's DEVO related events.

On the same night as the gallery reception, The Spudboys performed their yearly pre-DEVOtional rehearsal at The Electric Cafe, located directly across the street from North Water Street Gallery. Jerry Casale showed up early to run through a few DEVO songs w/ The Spudboys, with whom he planned to perform as Jihad Jerry at the DEVOtional the next night.

Some notable faces in the crowd: Genral Jackett (artist/musician friend of DEVO from the early days who is featured in DEVO's Truth About De-Evolution film), Jacob Mothersbaugh (Mark's nephew), Camryn Hite (Mark's niece), Alex Brunelle and Tom Chiki of BoojiBoysBasement.com, and
She-vo (Super DEVOtee, as seen on MySpace).

Thanks to everyone who attended the reception, and especially those who supported the tour by purchasing art and merchandise.

See you all in Ohio next year!
