Richard Hansen showed up at the opening reception sporting a hat with The Life Aquatic on it, which he received as a promotional item through the company he works for.

I assumed it was an intentional reference to Mark Mothersbaugh's movie scoring work in the film. However, although Richard is a *huge* fan of the movie & Mark's soundtrack, it was a coincidence that he wore the hat to the show.
