Delighted with the news that DEVO were touring Europe, I booked my time off from work. It was unfortunate that I had used too much of my annual leave prior to this. My boss pulled me into his office and explained to me that I can not have the time as I would have none left for Christmas.

Unhappy with his, I protested to him and asked him to reconsider. He dug in firmly and told me I had to choose between work and concert(s)! With out a blink of the eye, I told him 'There will always be another job, but there will never be another DEVO' - I will leave the company.

I do not know who was more shocked, me for finding it so easy to decide of the boss for hearing what I had said.

Do I regret it? NO. It has been worth everything. Do I regret quitting a £27,000 a year job? NO, but the money would be nice to have again. I will find that ice cream cone in the sky again. It is just a matter of time.

Right now I have to find some way of raising funds to return the USA for next years shows.
Now I wonder if I still have Jerry's number so I can call that favour in?
