Temple Ball Gallery
is located in the heart of Carrboro, NC, near the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Owner Rick Ramirez opened the space in late 2002 and has provided the area with psychedelic art & music ever since. The front of the building is an eclectic retail store featuring posters, prints, jewelry, books, and more. The rear of the building is the De La Luz performance space, and serves as the main room for visual art & live music.

The opening on Firday, March 11th marked the official start of Mark Mothersbaugh's solo shows in 2005. Mark was unable to attend due to movie music scoring duties, but did provide us with over 3 hours of new, unedited, stream of consciousness electric organ music. This music will soon be available for sale on 3 seperate CD volumes.

On display were over 20 brand new Beautiful Mutants prints, along with a handful of his 2004 works. Rick Ramirez painted his gallery walls black especially for this show, which looked fantastic behind the framed Mutants.

The show will be up until April 8th, so check it out if you are in the area.

Thanks to all the fine folks at Temple Ball for a great time.
